Hermetic \Her*met"ic\, Hermetical \Her*met"ic*al\, a. [F.
herm['e]tique. See Note under {Hermes}, 1.]
1. Of, pertaining to, or taught by, Hermes Trismegistus; as,
hermetic philosophy. Hence: Alchemical; chemic. "Delusions
of the hermetic art." --Burke.
