vb. n. {Spilling}.]
To cover or decorate with slender pieces of wood, metal,
ivory, etc.; to inlay. [Obs.] --Spenser.

spildan, to destroy; akin to Icel. spilla to destroy, Sw.
spilla to spill, Dan. spilde, LG. & D. spillen to squander,
OHG. spildan.]
